Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Cuyahoga Valley National Park is located in northeastern Ohio, a swath of preserved nature stretching from Cleveland to Akron. Established in 1974, it is the only national park in Ohio and thus a popular destination for those in the surrounding area. The park features a variety of landscapes, including rolling hills, dense forests, rocky cliffs, all surrounding the winding Cuyahoga River.
The Cuyahoga River, which runs through the heart of the park and is known for its recreational opportunities, including fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. Visitors can also enjoy hiking and biking along the scenic trails that traverse the park, or explore the historic sites and cultural landmarks within its boundaries. These include the Everett Covered Bridge, a historic covered bridge that spans the Cuyahoga River, and the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail which runs along the length of the river.
