National Parks in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania is part of the Northeast region of the United States and is the 33rd-largest by land area and the fifth-most populous. The Appalachian Mountains bisect the state from north to south.
National Parks in Pennsylvania
There are no sites specifically designated as a “National Park” in Pennsylvania.
The closest National Park to western PA is Cuyahoga National Park in north-central Ohio.
The closest National Park to both the central and eastern parts of Pennsylvania is the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia.
National Park Sites in Pennsylvania
Even though there are no National Parks in PA, there are a handful of official National Park Service sites.
The Delaware Water Gap along the eastern border with New Jersey gets the same amount of visitors as Yellowstone, which makes it the most popular park in the state.
The most known site is probably Gettysburg National Military Park, which we featured in our trip across Ohio, PA, and Washington DC.
